I only have a few, select friends. I know I don’t have the ‘K’ but I really choose my friends. Either that or they don’t choose me so I end up with those who would risk it.
So with that I rarely get new friends, I just maintain the old, existing ones from way back god-knows-when.
However, I realized lately that I’m even losing my existing friends, either because we no longer have the time to meet, I lost their contact numbers or email, or we’ve had some misunderstandings and it affected our friendship.
But when you develop a certain disdain to a “friend”, you realize that maybe we should have not been friends in the first place. The things that we do have in common got overshadowed by the things that we don’t. And I end up hating the person I can’t even rationalize being friends anymore.
So I’m weeding a “friend” out of my life before we even end up as enemies.
And I’ll grow old alone and without friends. Yeah right.
