Smartbro Prepaid vs. Smartbro Fixed Broadband

slow internet

I’m not quite satisfied with my new smartbro fixed broadband connection. I feel that it’s slower than my previous smartbro prepaid connection. Aren’t they using the same technology? What gives?

If not for the unlimited thingie, I would not even bother getting the services of Smartbro. PLDT Plan 990 (landline + dsl) seemed to be a good bargain, but the advertised 356kbps speed turned me off because I think that’s too slow for a dsl connection. Now, I don’t know if I made the right decision.

Will monitor the speed for a week and if this does not improve, customer service should be prepared for a lotta ranting.

Gadget Drool: iPhone

Oh Apple how you tease us so with your sleek and gorgeous products. I would have sold my earthly possessions (good thing there ‘s not much) just to buy one of them iPods but I just get too irritated watching and hearing those fanboys and how they sold their souls to Steve Jobs (kidding). So for now I’d stick with my chinese made iFOD and my Acer Laptop (running Ubuntu Dapper Drake) ‘coz I can’t afford Apple’s stuff.

But that doesn’t mean I’m not drooling over this:

Waaaahhh!!!

I hate it when my pc doesn’t work the way I want it to.

I’m tired of politics, so let me talk tech for awhile.

Just this weekend I tried installing Starcraft (a strategy game) on my 5 year old pc. I assume that since the game was from ’98, and was made for Windows 98, it would not have any problems running on my WinXP pc. Backwards compatibility yada yada stuff.

I was wrong.

It didn’t take me 15 minutes before the dreaded blue screen of death finally pounced on me and rebooted my pc.

I don’t know what’s wrong. I reinstalled the game, applied the patches, upgraded my graphics card drivers.

Nothing. Blue screen. Reboot. Windows reports that it recovered from a serious error.

For the love of Bill Gates and Blizzard Entertainment I need help!

Damn starcraft.
